Terms of Use

1. Purpose and agreement

These Terms apply to the FrankenSketch web game and related features offered during the public playtest. The Terms in effect apply when you use the service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Our separate Privacy Notice explains data handling and what the local data deletion control can and cannot delete.

2. Age and authority

The service is intended for people aged 16 or older. Do not use the service if you are under 16. If you are under 19, obtain a parent or legal guardian's consent where applicable law requires it.

If you use the service on behalf of another person or organization, you must have authority to bind them to these Terms.

3. The service

The current public playtest provides these features for free:

• real-time games for 3–5 people through a room code or invite link;
• prompts, rotating roles, piece drawing, a combined image, and guess results;
• browser result recovery and PNG, ZIP, or collage saving or operating-system sharing; and
• optional Discord and feedback links.

We currently provide no accounts, paid products, advertising, in-game voice or text chat, public forum, or public room discovery. If we introduce accounts or payments later, we will provide the applicable conditions and notices separately.

You need a compatible browser and internet connection. If your group uses an external voice service, that provider's terms apply separately.

4. Rooms, connections, and result storage

• A room code is not a permanent address or reserved space. Share it only with intended players.
• The room and code are discarded when the final player leaves.
• A brief disconnect can be recovered only within a limited grace period while the same server process remains available.
• A deployment, restart, outage, or network problem may end a game and erase in-progress room data.
• Final results are stored in the current browser for limited periods and quantities and may not recover in private browsing or restricted storage modes.

Save important results to your own device. FrankenSketch does not retain, recover, or delete files after you download or share them to another app.

5. User responsibilities and prohibited conduct

Use the service lawfully and with respect for the other people in your room.

• Do not put real names, contact details, account credentials, or other information you do not want to share into a nickname, drawing, or guess.
• Do not submit unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, privacy-invasive, or rights-infringing content.
• Do not impersonate others or use personal data, copyrighted material, or trademarks without permission.
• Do not distribute malware, send excessive automated requests, brute-force codes, bypass security, or interfere with the service.
• Do not use tools to defeat the game's blind-drawing rules or server-authoritative controls.

FrankenSketch has no public room list or continuous content review and report system. Leave a room that feels unsafe or unwelcome, and contact us about a security issue or unlawful conduct.

6. User content and combined results

You retain any rights you have in drawings, guesses, and other content you create. FrankenSketch does not take ownership of user content.

You grant the operator a temporary, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, transmit, transform, and display that content, and to create result files, only as needed to run the room, recover a connection, show results, and perform saving or sharing that a user requests. This license ends when the content is no longer needed to provide those functions.

By contributing to a room, you agree that the other players may view the combined result and use the game's features to save or share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use or reuse beyond this scope requires permission from the relevant rights holders. You are responsible for having the right to submit your content and for not infringing anyone else's rights.

7. FrankenSketch content and rights

Rights in the FrankenSketch name, logo, interface design, software, copy, prompt collection, and other service materials belong to the operator or the applicable rights holder. Using the service does not transfer those rights to you beyond the personal permission to use the service under these Terms.

8. Changes, suspension, and restrictions

We may change features or temporarily suspend the service to improve the playtest, perform maintenance, protect security, comply with law, or meet an operational need. When practical, we will announce a material change through Home, the official Discord, or another appropriate channel. Emergency security or outage work may occur without advance notice.

We generally announce updated Terms at least 7 days before they take effect and, where practical, at least 30 days before a materially adverse change. The updated Terms apply when you use the service after their effective date. If you disagree, stop using the service and you may use the local data deletion control in Home.

We may restrict or end connections, requests, or room creation to address a Terms violation, protect users or the service, respond to law, or enforce system safeguards. Contact us if you believe an automated safeguard blocked normal use.

9. Warranties and liability

FrankenSketch is a free public playtest under development. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or identical operation on every browser and device. To the extent the operator is not at fault, we are not responsible for loss caused by your device or network, another participant, an external service, force majeure, or files you save or share.

Where loss results from the operator's fault, responsibility is determined by applicable law. These Terms do not exclude liability for the operator's intent or gross negligence and do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

10. External services

Discord, email, browsers, operating-system sharing, and hosting providers are separate services. Their own terms and privacy notices apply when you choose an external link or sharing feature. FrankenSketch does not control the availability or content of those external services.

11. Governing law and disputes

The laws of the Republic of Korea govern these Terms and the service. If a dispute arises, please first contact us so we can try to resolve it in good faith. Any court proceeding will be brought in a court with jurisdiction under the applicable civil procedure laws. This section does not limit any mandatory legal protection that applies to you.

12. Language, effective date, and contact

The Korean document is the original and this English document is a translation for accessibility. If the two differ, the Korean text controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
